what is gangplank? and how do we collaborate?

As a result of Startup Weekend Phoenix, the nerds at Brice Cheddarn have been even more motivated than usual.  And a lot of that has to do with meeting a lot of cool people with goals and skills like ours.  For awhile, we were starting to think the PHX tech market was as dry as the weather.  In the two years of our existence as a legal entity in this state, we had only run across a handful of like minded web nerds that we could collaborate with.  The search for our fellow developers and entrepreneurs produced little results.  Until Startup Weekend, that is.

Startup Weekend Phoenix was hosted at Gangplank, an open developer community located in Chandler, AZ.  Gangplank believes that web professionals should focus on collaboration over competition, and that ideas should be shared freely.  So, they set up camp in a warehouse-style office and began on a mission to create an environment for web professionals to thrive when they are surrounded by their peers.

"Bridging the gap, Gangplank is developing a remarkable new co-working environment where you can bounce ideas off your peers, get feedback on your work, or just buckle down and get your client projects finished."

Finding this community of developers, designers and thinkers in the phoenix are was refreshing.  Some might say awesome.  Having worked with a handful of them over the weekend, I was able to get first-hand experience at how their philosophy helped the overall process.  And ever since, I have been extremely motivated.

They are a close knit circle of friends, all with different lifestyles and personalities.  But they all bond together for a common goal.  And it is a goal that they have in common with the nerds at brice cheddarn.

Will Gangplank be receptive to Brice Cheddarn?  We hope so...but only time will tell.  In the meantime, check out some of their sites:
